Andrea Sanz Vela develops an interdisciplinary practice across composition, performance, sound research, visual work, writing and pedagogy. Her work explores how melodies, bodies, images and words can move across cultural, emotional and spatial borders.

Through piano, viola, steel tongue drum, voice, drawing, painting and text, she creates works that question fixed forms of listening and open temporary spaces for resonance, memory and transformation.

Her current research focuses on displaced and recontextualized melodies: musical materials that travel from distant cultural contexts and become keys to other ways of perceiving, remembering and inhabiting the world.
